San Diego

When you think of San Diego, California, what is the first thing that comes to your mind?  Is it sunshine, beaches and water parks?  If so, you’re not alone.  Southern California, where San Diego is located, is one of the gems of the pacific coast when it comes to tourism, the ocean, the beach and that amazing So Cal sunshine!

But tanning on the beach isn’t the greatest benefit of San Deigo solar energy.  Nope.  That distinction falls on San Diego solar energy, itself.  Solar power, captured by San Diego solar panels, can provide more benefits than most people realize.

Benefit to the Environment

Most energy in the United States is produced through the burning of coal in coal fire power plants.  Burning the coal produces a large amount of pollution in addition to the fact that, eventually, we will run out of coal to burn.  Alternatives to coal power is necessary if we are to continue using those items that require electricity, we must come up with new ways to produce it.  One of those ways is the solar power.  In sunshine plentiful areas, like San Diego, there is no reason not to consider installing solar panels to save money, and save the environment.

Saving Money

Did you know that the government requires local power companies to buy power from individual citizens who produce too much on their own?  If a person in San Diego has solar panels and uses solar energy, they can sell any excess power back to the power company and actually make a profit on their solar energy.  In the event you don’t actually buy out the local power company by installing solar panels on your roof in San Diego, you will certainly save money since you won’t be paying the exorbitant prices for energy that the local power companies tend to charge.

More Money!

The government offers a tax credit if a citizen installs solar panels.  This credit is not a deduction, but more like a coupon good toward your tax liability.  Even better? If the government owes you a refund, your tax credit can actually increase the amount you will receive.  All you have to do to receive this tax credit is to use solar power at your home in San Diego, or any other city in the country.

Set a Great Example

As more and more citizens make the commitment to go green and use solar energy, the movement continues to grow.  If making a difference in the carbon footprint we, as a society, will leave on the planet, you can show your neighbors exactly how they can help, too!  Solar energy can help us turn the planet over to our grandchildren even better than we inherited it.
